GRAY-GRANT'S RAPID WRITING
What
Height Is Your Helicopter?
Before
you change altitude, give your readers some warning.
Are
you hovering low, focusing on details like individual
trees and houses, or are you hovering high, looking at
the patterns
in the landscape? When
I have a hard time understanding a piece of writing, I often
discover the author is dipsy-doodling in "height." He
or she is going from big ideas to small without giving me enough
warning... Get

Twitter Sentiment Analyzers Reviewed
Twitter
Search,
Social Mention, Twendz, Twitter Sentiment, and Twitrratr
by
Chris Near-- There
is big, big, big demand for the ability to measure sentiment in social
media.
Sentiment -- also called "tone," and typically rated as positive,
negative or neutral -- is shorthand for what the world thinks about
something. And everyone, from junior high kids ("Do they like
me or not?")
to billion-dollar corporations ("Do they like our latest
product?"),
wants to know what the world thinks of them... Twitter

William
Shakespeare's 5 Best PR Writing Tips
"Words without thoughts
never to heaven go."
Almost
400 years after the death of William Shakespeare, theatres still regularly
perform his plays, children study his work in school, and we are still
moved by the complexity of his stories and the beauty of his language. But
what's less well known is that Shakespeare also provided superb advice
for public
relations writers. Here are five of his best tips... Writing

SOCIAL MEDIA MEASUREMENT:
TWITTER
Which
Twitter Profile Analysis Tool Rules the Nest?
5 online Twitter analysis services compared: Twinfluence,
TwitterAnalyzer, Twitter Grader, Twitterholic, and TwitterScore.
by
Chris Near -- So
you want to measure Twitter... The good news is that
you have several online Twitter analysis/ranking services to choose
from. The bad news is that you will probably find that none of them
offer all the metrics that you really need or want. If
we had a way to combine them all, then we might have something really
useful.
But until then, we'll have to weigh the pros and cons of each and make
the best decision. Here's my report on five of the Twitter analyzers...

TRUST
MEASUREMENT
How
to Measure Trust and Mistrust
Chapter 6 of Measuring Public Relationships:
The Data-Driven Communicator's Guide to Success
Trust
has been a widely studied concept both by itself and, most importantly,
as a component of the quality of relationships. Research by Jim
Grunig and Linda Hon has shown that trust is one of six independently
measurable components of relationships... More

THE PAINE OF MEASUREMENT
The
Trust Issue
If you give trust, you get trustworthy
behavior in return. If your behavior is trustworthy, people will
reward you with their trust. It's a closed loop, and, in my experience,
only occasionally violated... More
trust.
