Mother’s Day and Memorial Day are the logical tie ins, but don’t forget that May is also National Hamburger Month, Better Sleep Month, National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, and National Strawberry Month. Here’s the calendar: May 1: May Day May 2: Thank Your School Librarian Day May 5: Cinco de Mayo May 11: Eat What You Want Day May 12: Mother's Day. (Since it is always on a Sunday, you might want to plan some sort of activity honoring yo’ Mama.) May 18: Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980 May 26: Memorial Day observed May 30: The official date of Memorial Day
